Rust Activator is applied to Metal Effects Iron Paint. This combination will create a real weathered rust finish. Rust Activator can be applied using a brush, sea sponge or spray by attaching a spritzer cap directly to the bottle. 4 oz or 16 oz available. If you are using the iron paint with rust activator on top of an existing metal surface, be sure to prime the surface first with acid-blocking primer. This is true even for walls because the metal screw heads will eventually bleed through without the acid-blocking primer.
